Welcome to the Mobile Learning Exploration System

The English website is currently under development

Here we provide you with our Mobile Learning Exploration System (Moles) for students, educators, and learners of all ages (starting at about eight years).

With the Moles Creator (a web based application) you create content for Multimedia Interactive Assignments (MIA) on the browser of your computer without installing any software. These MIA contain all needed instructional, explanatory information, and knowledge questions for your school outing, field trip or pervasive game.

With the Moles Player (a web based application) you run a MIA on your smartphone (or other mobile device with internet connectivity). It is possible to use text, photo, audio, and video within the browser-based Moles Player on your smartphone (or netbook).

During your outing, you answer cooperatively questions in the context of rich physical experiences on-site (in a habitat, a company, in urban space, a museum, etc.) and record your observations and findings.

The built-in chat and messaging simplify cooperative site-independent learning with the MIA.

Sometimes it makes sense to use adittional sensors (e.g., data measurement sensors) as well.

By installing a Moles Player App on your smartphone (which will be avaiable for Android systems approximately by March 2011) GPS geolocalisation will be possible.

In the near future Apps for iOS and Windows Phone 7 as well as a pure web-based version without less features will be available. Also the display of location data as well as the activity of other classmates on other media platforms (such as multi-touch screens, interactive white boards, etc.) will be possible.

Back in the classroom you can produce a presentation with the help of the webbased Moles Presenter for further reflection, discussion, and presentation in the classroom or Internet.

The Educators Forum (for ambient learning) provides a lively exchange of experiences among the users of Moles. You find there the most reasant tutorials and assistens for creating and use of Moles-learning games.
